Hey everyone and happy almost Valentine’s Day!!
I hope everyone had a great week!
The highlight of my week was making cheese pasta!
All my Bachelor fans.. you know what I’m talking about.
The cheese pasta (made by Corinne’s now famous nanny Raquel) was better than I expected!
It’s basically just boiled pasta with shredded cheese sprinkled on top (she shared it on her snapchat this week).
But enough of my weekly Bachelor ramblings..
I’ve seen a lot of people sharing their Valentine’s Day looks and for me personally, I’m not big on a really dramatic red eye look for the romantic holiday.
Of course, it’s all personal preference.
My husband and I are more of the burger joint, Mexican cantina type of date couple rather than the Ruth’s Chris, fancy restaurant type.
Again.. all about preference!
But with that said, I decided to do an eye look I might do for every day, but with a bold lip!
Here’s the final look.
First, I primed my face with my all-time favorite: Too Faced HangoveRx primer.
The Pro-Glow is in a lighter shade and the mix creates my perfect shade and ideal finish.
Then I used the Wet n Wild photofocus concealer in the shade light ivory.
I KNOW.. In the last post, I said I wasn’t a HUGE fan of this concealer but it HAS grown on me!
Especially considering the price.
BTW.. do you like my cat ear headband?!
I got it here.
I just got it and I’m obsessed!!!
I then set my concealer with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder using a tan beautyblender.
I left the excess on to let it “bake”.
I do this EVERY DAY because I think it makes my undereye look flawless and prevents it from creasing.
Does anyone else make this crazy face THE ENTIRE TIME they put on makeup??
I then primed my eyelids with the Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Then, I used the lightest shade, called Vintage, in the Tarte Tarteist Pro Palette to set the primer.
Then I took a fluffy blending brush (this one is from Luxie brushes) and picked up the shade Fierce and put that in my crease.
Then I took a smaller blending brush and put the shade to the right on the same row, called No Filter, on the outer and inner third of my lid.
I’m leaving the center open for the shimmery shade.
I used a flat eyeshadow brush to grab the shade Glam, then used my Mac Fix+ spray to make it pop.
Then I went back in with No Filter and blended out the edges around the shimmer so it looked seamless.
Next, I picked up the darkest shade on that row, called Vamp, and put it on the very outer corner.
Then I went back in with the shimmer shade and added a little bit more to make sure it still stands out.
I took the biggest fluffy brush I used first to blend everything together so it all looks gradient and really put together.
This was the first time I used this palette and I really like it!
I also have the Tartlette Amazonian Clay palette and the shades in that palette don’t blend as well as these.
They’ve definitely updated their formula and these blend so nicely!!
I also really like the shimmer shades!
Next, I took my L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer in the shade Blonde to fill in my brows.
I just got this product and I really like it!! I think this will replace my Benefit brow pencil, at least for now!
Then I took the Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner pen to draw out my winged liner.
I used my elf tapered brush to wipe away the excess powder from baking.
After that, I used a pencil brush to apply Fierce and No Filter to my lower lash line. I then put the darkest shade on the outer part.
I applied one of my FAVORITE mascaras, the It Cosmetics Superhero mascara then put some Kiss lashes on top.
Next, I used a Real Techniques brush to bronze up my skin with the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer.
To contour, I used a Luxie angled brush to apply the Benefit Hoola bronzer.
I start at the top of my ear and work down toward my mouth.
Then blend it all in together so there are no harsh lines.
Here’s a picture after I contoured the left side.
Notice the difference?
I have a very round face so I like to do this EVERY DAY!!!
Now, I don’t do this every day but this is a Valentine’s look and we’re gettin’ fancy so I decided to sharpen up the contour by applying more of that setting powder using a flat brush right underneath that contour shade.
This really cleans up that line underneath and makes it stand out, giving you a more chiseled look.
For blush, I took this Nars blush/bronzer duo shade Orgasm (love this shade!) and applied it to the apples of my cheeks.
I always blend it back a little so it blends in with my bronzer and doesn’t just look like a round splotch on my cheek.
Then I used my Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01 on the tops of my cheekbones and on my nose.
To set everything in place, I used the Milani “Make it Last” setting spray.
I just got this and I love it!!
…aaand here is the finished look!
On my lips I used the Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in the shade Flame of the Game.
