So.. it’s currently 4 a.m. and I’m writing this blog post because I can’t sleep!
I bought new products from Wet n Wild and I’ve been wanting to try them out, so what better time than 3 in the morning?!
Here’s a look at the new products I picked up from Walgreens.
I didn’t buy enough to do an entire look, so I’ll mention the other products I threw in along the way.
Here’s the look I went with:
First, I primed my eyes with the Urban Decay Primer Potion, then set it with the lightest shade in the palette.
Then I used the Wet n Wild Au Naturel palette. I picked up the “Nude Awakening” one.
GUYS.. look what I did right after this..
THIS IS HEARTBREAKING…..
The shadows don’t have names, but there are numbers for each on the back so I put them on the picture so you can tell!
First, I used shade 3 in the crease then shade 6 right underneath.
I put shade 7 (the burgundy shade) in the crease and outer corner then went over that with 9.. LOTSA blending.
I went back in with the darkest shade in my very outer corner to darken it up a little more.
My first impression is that I really like this palette.
The shadows blended very well and I like colors in it.
I used the Stila eyeliner pen to draw out my wing.
Next, I primed my face with the Too Faced HangoveRx primer.
Then I used a damp beauty blender to apply the Wet n Wild photofocus foundation. My shade is soft beige (probably a little dark for me but it was the lightest shade my Walgreens carries apparently).
I really like this foundation.
I’ve been using it for about a week and a half now so I could give you guys a full review and overall I think it’s very long-wearing and looks great in photos!
It’s a little thicker than what I’m used to but overall I think it blended out nicely and gives a pretty finish.
Since I am on camera every day at work I’ve been able to put the “photo” and “lighting” claims to the test.
I will pretty much only wear this foundation to work now because I noticed a dramatic difference wearing this under bright lights!!!
I then used the photofocus concealer to highlight my face. I used the shade light ivory.
I like the shade of this because it brightened by undereye.
[Check out that Sephora package in the background.. it’s a little somethin’ for my next blog post ;)]
Recently I’ve been using the Too Faced Born this Way concealer and it is WAY more hydrating than the Wet n Wild one.
If I set this one it looks fine but it’s not my favorite.
Next I used the Laura Mercier translucent setting powder to set it all.
While I’m baking, I used the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer to warm up my face.
Then I contoured my cheeks and sides of my forehead with the Benefit Hoola Bronzer.
For blush I used the Milani powder blush in Romantic Rose. This is a soft, muted blush. Great for every day.
Okay, another Wet n Wild product!
I tried the Mega Cushion Highlight in “Who’s that Pearl”.
I’m still unsure about this one.
At first I HATED it.
It comes with a little pad to apply the highlight but I tried applying with my damp beauty blender.
It didn’t blend as well as I thought it would so I used my finger to make it look more natural.
At first it looked streaky BUT THEN….
I applied this little gem on top.
This shade is so gorgeous and made my highlight pop!
I do like the way it looks with the two layered on top of each other. I would wear the powder alone but probably not the cushion highlight.
Next I went back into the palette (after dusting away the excess powder from baking) and used the same shades to smoke out my lower lash line. Then put shade 2 (RIP) under my brow and in my inner corners.
Then I applied the Lancome Grandiose waterproof mascara before applying Kiss lashes (couldn’t find the exact ones so I couldn’t link them).
I like these lashes because they look pretty natural and fan out on the ends.
I’m sorry this picture is blurry. I swear it was fine when I checked it and Idk what happened!!
PS.. please excuse my brows. I LOST my brow pencil (Benefit Precisely my Brow) and my brows and I both are freaking out and CANNOT-WILL-NOT behave…
For lips I used the Wet n Wild megalast Liquid Catsuit matte lipstick in the shade Rebel Rose.
I bought these two colors also!
L to R: Rebel Rose, Berry Recognize, and Missy and Fierce.
I didn’t wear this lipstick for more than about 2 hours but the swatches were hard to remove which tells me they’ll last a long time! They’re also super comfortable.
Last but not least, I used the photofocus Setting Spray to set everything into place.
Here is the final look!!!
