Sephora Play! Unboxing

Hi everyone!

For this post I’m sharing what is in this month’s Play! by Sephora box.

If you aren’t familiar with this subscription box, Sephora sends out five sample size products and a mini perfume each month for $10.

They also send a Play! Pass that you can take into the store for a free makeup tutorial and to redeem 50 Beauty Insider points.

They do have a limited amount of subscribers right now, although the site says they’re trying to add more every month.

I personally like this box because it’s a great way to try out something new at Sephora.

I’m guilty of checking the “Just Arrived” section on Sephora’s website once (errr.. okay twice.. three times) a day so this box lets me try things without feeling the need to buy everything on the website.

With that said, here’s what was in this month’s box.

When you open it up, there’s always this little booklet with the Play! Pass that opens up and tells you more about each product.

The samples also come in a cute “themed” bag each month.

This month’s theme is “Beauty, Set, Go”.img_6817

It looks like a mini gym bag with mesh on the back.

The first product in the bag is the Ouai Treatment Masque.

I’m excited about this one because I’ve been wanting to try one of these products.

If you haven’t heard of Ouai before, it was created by Jen Atkin.

She’s best known as the hair expert for the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

The description says the “restorative mask helps to care for damaged hair and leaves strands feeling smooth and touchably soft”.

The next item is a face mask by Farmacy.

I’ve only tried a couple things from this brand, but I’m a fan so far.

The Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask “transforms into a decadent cream while evening skin tone, hydrating, and brightening”.

This mask is made from real bee honey!

The third product is the Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact.

The booklet says the CC cream “hydrates, protects skin, and delivers buildable weightless coverage”.

The top packet is the sponge so you can try the two different shades.

It also says it’s SPF 50.

I love anything with an SPF so excited to try this!

This next product is probably my favorite thing in the bag..

The Tarte Frxxxtion Stick is “an exfoliating gel cleanser in a unique twist-up stick format”.

It’s perfect for someone on the go (going with the theme of the box).

It says you can leave this on longer and use it as a mask!

The fifth sample is a lip product.

The Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey is described as a “sheer lip color with a glossy finish”.

When I first saw this I was disappointed by how dark it was until I swatched it.

I think this is a great shade to throw in your purse and have to throw on if you just want a little color on your lips or something lightweight.

Like I mentioned above, each box also comes with a perfume sample.

This month’s scent is Tory Burch’s Love Relentlessly.

So, I’m always amazed by how people are able to describe what they’re smelling when they sniff these samples and I’m sad to say I was not blessed with that gift.

All I can say is that it doesn’t smell fruity or “flowery”. It smells mature and like a perfume I would prefer.

I’m sorry if that doesn’t help you at all!! 😦

VERDICT: Overall, I like this month’s box. If you add up the prices of each of these products (including perfume) FULL-SIZED it would total $273.

I look at it that way saying if I wanted to try each of these products typically I’d have to pay full price.

Let me know what you guys think of this month’s box!
